The Heathrow Terminal 5 Plus project has been designed to develop options and solutions that will deliver additional capacity in T5 to accommodate the projected growth, and pre-expansion of Heathrow Airport.
The TTS Capacity Enhancements project is intended to introduce additional capacity in the TTS that operates between Terminal 5A and Terminal 5C through the introduction of additional Automated People Movers (APM) vehicles and, the associated modification to the operation from a shuttle service to a loop operation.
Commissioned by Alstom to oversee the overall project management and handover of the project to Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL). Works include – managing the rolling stock design, manufacture, testing and commissioning and integration of 20 new Innovia 200 APM’s; also covering system modifications to the existing vehicle and station passenger communication systems.
